Oh my goodness! It's been so long since I drew them!!!

For those of you who don't know(which I assume is pretty much all of you), the first comics I ever drew were when I was about 8(give or take) and they were about the Ninja Turtles. I LOVED that show so much! I would draw comics every day about it for a couple of years! I owe ALOT of my development as a cartoonist to that show
Though out of all the comics I drew in all those years, I finished maybe three.

Well anyhow, I didn't really outgrow it by any means, but they kind of outgrew ME. The good old fashioned show which I loved so much was replaced with the new generation shows, that had the turtles as 3D animatronics, or as creepy killer mutated versions of their former selves. None of this appealed to me. I was willing to put up with the animatronics version but tha'ts only because they weren't showing the old episodes anymore.
for me it was always about the plot and the jokes, I couldn't care less about the fights. And it seemed like the new episodes were all about butt-kicking.

At some point the show just lost ocntact with it's former self and I stopped watching.

Well, this month I was going to record a show for a friend of mine, so I checked the tape I wanted to record on and it had an old Ninja Turtles episode on it, once tha tI recordd as a kid because it was supposed to be extra awesome. It brought a smile to my face to remember it, but I didn't watch it and ended up recording over it. In retrospect I am angry at myself for doing so.

Well, earlier this week I stumbled across a deviantart gallery of someone who worked on the show Ed Edd n' Eddy that had alot of TMNT fanart in it. It was awesome to se the fanart.

Well, today my mom brought me a book she found. It's full of old comic strips published in some Israeli comic gazette that existed back in the 90's, which I have never heard of. To my surprise there was a teenage mutant ninja turtle comic strip in it! I never even knew they had a comic strip!

Well, three magor flashbacks in one month - I just couldn't ignore it. I had to draw them again. I haven't drawn them in YEARS but I had to draw them again.

I never could draw April or splinter though. That didn't change in this picture. I had to trace a picture of April to make her look alright. And Splinter, well, I forgot about him, to be honest.

April(combined with Lois Lane) was also a magor inspiration for a certain red haired reporter character of mine... Guess who.
